It was a hot and sunny day on Centre Street, but the energy from the front yard of number 68 made it even hotter! Brass over Tea Kettle turned heads as they took the stage (or rather, the porch) for the Centre Street Porch Jazz Series.

The band's bold brass sound filled the street, as an enthusiastic crowd of neighbors, friends, and familiar faces from the Kingston music scene. 

For this special performance, Brass over Tea Kettle brought in drummer Wayne Morris to hold down the rhythm. But that wasn’t the only surprise. For the first time ever, the band had a vocalist! Hayley Miller took the mic and belted out a show-stopping rendition of "Holding Out for a Hero," adding a new layer of excitement to the already electric atmosphere.

It wasn’t jazz, but it didn’t matter. The music was full of heart, the porch was full of cheers, and once again, Brass over Tea Kettle showed why they’re a band you never quite expect, but always enjoy.
