Brass over Tea Kettle made their Homegrown debut this past Saturday. Things were off to a tentative start for the afternoon set at the Royal Tavern 2.0, but as the brass music wailed through the thin antique glass windows, the crowds streamed through the doors and filled up the pub like brassy pop music fills our hearts. Steffen made his debut on tenor and cranked out solos like he was born on stage. BOTK debuted “Royals” in tribute to our host. Jen's sequins slide arm sparkled, Fran's Samurai pants were ready for battle, Gord reminded us that he is superhero in his off time, and the rest will have to try harder next time to impress their mothers with their costume choices. The crowd danced and cheered, bracelets were sold, and money was raised for a great cause. Did we convert some unsuspecting Homegrown fans into diehard Kettleheads? We'll see at out next show!
