This past Sunday, Brass over Tea Kettle made their sizzling debut at the Skeleton Park Arts Festival Porch Jazz Parade—and we mean sizzling literally. With the sun blazing and a heatwave in full swing, the parade—led by the ever-rollicking Trash Panda Brass Band—kicked off in the park and grooved its way from porch to porch in a full-blown mobile music mob.

BOTK’s set started with a splash of drama as Liam made his grandest entrance yet—blasting tuba mid-stride during the opening number, “Traveller,” as he literally arrived from a whirlwind trip to Bowmanville. Talk about timing! From there, things only heated up, with a setlist that served up Lucky Chops, Dua Lipa, Cyndi Lauper, and a Spice Girls hit that had the crowd singing every word.

Once the last notes rang out, the parade bounced along to catch Fake Jazz Orchestra and then grooved all the way to The Goat Steppers on the main stage.  It was a scorcher in every sense.
